You’re Next – Blu Ray Review. Second Sight

Second Sight in the UK has released a special edition UHD/Blu-ray of the 2011 horror/slasher film You’re Next directed by Adam Wingard.

A family reunion takes place between bickering siblings and their partners but things take a gruesome turn when masked killers invade their home. However, the cold-blooded intruders don’t count on the fact that one of the guests can turn just as violent as they are.

The slasher genre has always survived from the peak of the early 80’s with Friday the 13th etc, but You’re Next is one of the better examples, with plenty of twists and turns as well as the expected gory deaths.

One of the things about this entry is it does not waste time getting to the violence, once the initial murder happens all hell breaks loose and the gory murders come thick and fast and some are shocking.

you can’t help rooting for the survivors — especially when an unlikely hero emerges from them all and shows that he/she can give as much as she takes. It is an enjoyable ride, the twists when they happen are not that surprising but by the finale, you will feel exhausted by the constant pace of threat and suspense.

If you are a fan of this type of splatter film then you will find a lot to enjoy and this entry is well directed and acted by all involved.

Second Sight has released the film in a new UHD/Blu-ray package with plentiful new extras which include:
