“I thought you’d be… bigger!”

Thanks to Arrow Video, this classic 80s action film has now received a new 4K remaster and a limited edition UHD and Blu-ray release.

Road House is about a rough and dangerous bar called Double Deuce, where the owner decides to hire the best cooler in the business to clean it up, Dalton (Patrick Swayze)

Soon, the Double Deuce is turned into the hottest club in town – but Dalton’s exploits provoke the anger of Brad Wesley, the local crime-lord who maintains a vice-like grip on the town.

When Dalton starts dating the beautiful Doc (Kelly Lynch), Wesley’s jealousy and rage can’t be contained any longer, and things start to quickly escalate into an all out battle.

The film has a great supporting cast, including Sam Elliott, Kelly Lynch and Ben Gazzara as the nefarious Wesley.

Along with Dirty Dancing, Road House is one of Patrick Swayze’s most popular films. He handled the drama and the action perfectly, he was trained for the part by famous undefeated kickboxer Benny Urquidez for the role.

Sam Elliot plays Dalton’s mentor, Wade Garrett, and as usual, almost steals the show. Kelly Lynch as the beautiful love interest, and finally the great soundtrack and music by Jeff Healey, wrap up a fantastic action classic which stands the test of time well.

This new 4K remaster by Arrow is superb. Picture quality with fine detail shines, but still retains the filmic grain. The image also has great depth and the colours are solid and look amazing.

Audio has the default 2.0 stereo track and the 5.1 mix. Both are bold, solid and worth a listen.
